- The Georgia House passed a comprehensive transportation funding bill aimed at raising nearly $900 million a year for transportation improvements in Georgia.
- Alpharetta may get a first-of-its-kind new hotel brand right next to Avalon. The brand name is EVEN… the concept is owned by Atlanta based, Intercontinental Hotel Group. EVEN hotels are designed for the the frequent traveler who wants to be fit and feel good, but doesn’t want to spend too much time or energy on busy trips. Its amenities promote healthy eating, exercise, productivity and restful sleep.
- Georgia is looking to boost its cyber security industry. To that end, a resolution was introduced in the Georgia House of Representatives that would create a House-Senate study committee to consider ways to make this happen.
- In Hawks ownership news, there’s good news and bad news. The good news: a lot of different groups of people are bidding on the team. The potentially bad news: most of them are not local to Atlanta.
