Chris Hall, Partner with Unsukay Community of Businesses, plus Andrew Keenan and Charles Willi of Workshop Four joined Dana to discuss what it takes to get your business going and questions to ask yourself that will energize the branding process.

Unsukay Community of Business exists to build a unique and inspired company that delivers value as they share their passion for food, drink and human connection.

Workshop Four is a marketing and design firm that helps energize brands. By identifying clients’ unique strengths, they design targeted communications that leverage brands and fuel growth.

In the headlines:

  • Atlanta based Bastille, a cybersecurity firm (who we’ve had on the show) is in the news this week for raising a $9 million round of funding from investors, including Silicon Valley-based Bessemer Venture Partners.
  • Arthur Blank is excited about the choice of Dekalb for the Atlanta United’s new facility. He says he’s come full circle as the location is just across the street from where the very first Home Depot was located.
  • Now that fireworks are legal, expect to see more of those oh so classy fireworks shops coming into the state. The first big chain to come in and set up shop is going to be retailer, TNT Fireworks. They’re planning at least 100 locations in metro Atlanta, including a combination of superstores and seasonal stores.
  • And Dana jumped on a twitter hashtag bandwagon yesterday to promote women in technology. The hashtag is #ilooklikeanengineer – and it started when a pretty engineer was used in her company’s marketing material and she took some flack for it. She fought back online (as a good engineer would)… wrote a post, created a website and started a twitter hashtag… which guess what… is trending.  Women engineers who look all kinda different have posted their pictures. Love it.
