In the headlines:

  • Mayor Reed has appointed a board to lead the Westside Future Fund, a foundation aiming to raise more than $30 million to revitalize the West Atlanta community (including the historic Vine City, English Avenue and Castleberry Hill neighborhoods).
  • The Atlanta airport is moving ahead with plans for an “airport city” including a hotel attached to the airport and possibly including office buildings and retail space. They have put out an RFQ to developers to start coming up with proposals.
  • Google has officially delayed it’s plans for residential, super fast internet in Atlanta. Comcast appeared on the show last week saying they are already doing it here for business but they have not moved forward on a residential plan so far.
  • Russia’s Vladimir Putin has said Coca-Cola may be harmful for children to drink. Are we now moving from terrorist style wars to a war on business? And what are the implications to our hometown company?
