PR in the new DIY, Digital and Social Age

In the guest chair:

Kristin Cowart, Founder and CEO of BRAVE Public Relations joined us in studio to talk all things PR. We talked about who needs PR and when, how you clean up a business scandal, and the blurred lines between marketing, PR and social media.

BRAVE PR has an impressive client list including Royal Caribbean International and local establishments such as Atlanta Magazine and Taste of Atlanta. Media relations, media kit development and crisis communication are just a few of the areas BRAVE specializes in.

In the headlines:

  • We (here in Georgia) like to think we’re #1 for business. Site Selection Magazine has said we are for two years now, but Forbes disagrees. According to their new list we’re number 16. That’s not nearly as good.
  • Bloomberg BusinessWeek has put out this year’s list of the top business schools and three Georgia schools rank pretty well. Harvard, however, is losing ground.
  • A pedestrian bridge connecting Cobb Galleria to the new Braves stadium is still being considered, but is not a done deal.
  • And more Black Thursday Blackness. Walmart is changing it’s strategy a bit, but not enough for Dana’s taste.

Other stuff:

Soapbox:

Retail shopping on Thanksgiving is not cool. Eat turkey. Watch football. Have a glass of wine. Hug your family. Or fight with them. Either way don’t go to the mall. And maybe encourage others to stay away too! #savethanksgiving #boycottmacys #boycottblackthursday #StopBlackThursday
