In the headlines:

  • The furniture retailer West Elm has a new “local market” concept and they may be planning one of these new stores at Ponce City Market.
  • Researchers say Coke Life is a huge hit. But the Coca Cola company is struggling a bit overall. Sales of fizzy sugary drinks are down and even sales of their alternative drinks like juice and water are flat.
  • Here’s an interesting legal dilemma… you can smoke pot legally in more and more places in the US, but even in those places you can still get fired from your job for firing up.
  • And, Thanksgiving air travel is expected to increase slightly this year.

Soapbox:

Retail shopping on Thanksgiving is not cool. Eat turkey. Watch football. Have a glass of wine. Hug your family. Or fight with them. Either way don’t go to the mall. And maybe encourage others to stay away too! #savethanksgiving #boycottmacys #boycottblackthursday #StopBlackThursday
