Tech Tuesday from SouthWiRED

In the virtual guest chair:

SW14Today’s Tech Tuesday was all about SouthWiRED 2014.  We grabbed a bunch of great interviews at the conference and shared them on today’s show, David Johnson & Ron Carpinella from Decooda, and David Reeves from 22 Squared were featured.

In the headlines:

  • There is a new list of the 20 most dangerous cities in GA.  College Park tops the list.  The city of Atlanta comes in 5th.
  • RadioShack is getting a $120 million investment from hedge funds and restructures debt.
  • Sprint has announced layoffs to the tune of $160 million bucks. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse walked away from the carrier with severance pay exceeding $40 million in cash, stock and benefits
  • The Georgia Supreme Court has sided with Brookhaven against the Pink Pony regarding serving alcohol.

Other stuff:

Join us on the second Monday of every month at 7:30PM for The Dana Barrett Show Business Book Club.

Each month we’ll be discussing a different business book over some yummy (complimentary) appetizers at South City Kitchen Vinings. This month’s book is: DELIVERING HAPPINESS by Tony Hsieh – and the meeting is Monday October 13th. Everyone is welcome – but we only have room for 20, so register now!
