What do John Wilkes Booth, Superman and Facebook have in common?  They’re all mentioned in my interview with New York Times bestselling author and TV show host Brad Meltzer.

Congratulations to Brad, whose new book THE INNER CIRCLE debuts this week in the #1 spot on the New York Times Bestseller List!  Had I known that was going to happen, I would have been even more nervous to sit down and chat with Brad last week as he passed through Atlanta on his tour.

As it was I had worked myself up pretty well before we met.  I mean this guy is the real deal.  He’s had multiple best-selling books, been handed awards by Samuel L. Jackson and hosts his own TV show on the History Channel.  (Brad Meltzer’s Decoded airs Thursday nights at 10PM EST).  But I have to say all my nerves went straight out the window when Brad walked into our offices at The Hub Atlanta and gave me a big hug.

That’s the kind of guy Brad Meltzer is.  He is a regular guy doing amazing things and he’s a champion of ordinary people everywhere –  which you just gotta love.  But enough of me waxing poetic about Brad – let’s talk about the book:  THE INNER CIRCLE is a page turner from start to finish.   It tells the story of Beecher White, a young archivist working at the National Archives who finds out that George Washington’s Culper Ring is still in existence.   Presidential secrets and intrigue are the order of the day and Beecher finds himself in the middle of… welll… kind of a mess.  Of course danger and suspense ensue – and throughout the book you’ll find yourself wondering just who to trust.

I don’t want to give to much away, but I will tell you this, THE INNER CIRCLE is the beginning of a series, a first for Brad, so don’t despair when you get to the end of the book!  There will be more of Beecher and Clementine and The Culper Ring to be sure.

A great book, a great guy – and a great interview (if I do say so myself)!
