Lisa McMann has captured the hearts of teens everywhere with her WAKE trilogy – a series of supernatural thrillers featuring a girl who finds herself in other people’s dreams. So how does one follow a successful series like WAKE? With another supernatural thriller, of course.
Lisa is back with a new cast of characters, kids going missing, a creepy schoolhouse mystery and a possessed desk. Yup… a desk. The book is called CRYER’S CROSS and this time our heroine is just a regular girl with a challenge many regular kids (and adults) face… Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (or OCD). The character is based on Lisa’s daughter Kennedy who also has the disorder and was happy to have Mom to write about it in such a positive way.
Lisa and I sat down to talk last week as she passed through town on her book tour and I got her to reveal a little tidbit her fans don’t know about her, along with the scoop on her upcoming books. Of course we talked about the WAKE series and dug into the details of CRYER’S CROSS, but we also talked about Lisa’s writing career and how she actually gave up for almost 10 years before coming back to writing.
I hope you enjoy the interview and don’t forget to check out the rest of the author interview series now available on iTunes!
