In the guest chair:
Anna Lindow, General Manager, Campus Education + Operations for General Assembly joined me in the studio this morning to talk about their mission to build a community of individuals empowered to pursue work they love through instruction and opportunity in technology, business and design.
She explained the different kinds of courses they have, their “practitioner as instructor” approach to learning and the work they do to connect their students to potential employers.
In the headlines:
- The Atlanta Braves fired General Manager Frank Wren yesterday after 15 seasons with the team, the last seven as GM.
- Apple’s iPhone 6 is not just a boom for Apple, it’s also really, really good for Best Buy.
- Need something 3D printed? Well, now you can do that at over 100 UPS stores.
- The Home Depot is piloting DIY for cars in a bunch of it’s stores. They feel like the same people are handy at home (not to mention all the contractors that shop there) are also the type to work on their own cars.
